The Mackenney Centre is a purpose-built fully equipped Day Centre providing social and learning opportunities, with a hot meal and wide variety of activities. There is a large dining room, a quiet lounge, an exercise area, a craft room, a clinical room, a fully equipped bathroom, toilet facilities, a laundry, and a client computer room. There is an enclosed terraced garden with suitable garden furniture, plants and a conservatory.

The kitchen staff are able to provide a wide choice of fresh healthy meals including an alternative for those with special dietary requirements. Savour meals prepared especially for you.

Tuck Shop

There is a small tuck shop where clients can purchase sweets and cards. Homemade sausage-rolls and cakes may also be purchased and a grocery visits regularly. We also hold occasional table-top sales.

Transport

We have a fleet of four fully equipped and adapted mini buses with dedicated fully trained drivers to provide transport to and from the Centre for those who wish to use it.

Recreation, Arts and Crafts

tubes of oil paintsA choice of activities are provided every day; morning and afternoon, to stimulate the clients mentally and physically, including quizzes, games and chair-based exercises. Throughout the year, professional entertainers are booked. We are able to offer a dedicated facilitator for the Craft Room for any clients who enjoy arts and crafts. We also arrange social functions, celebrations, escorted outings, pub lunches and an annual holiday.
